Below is described a sample home cinema and multiroom system based on highest quality integration of KNX/EIB and CRESTRON systems. It allows, with just one control console/panel, the control of lighting, heating, window blinds, and selection of music from the displayed list. We are currently probably the only company in Poland having certifications authorising us to execute both these systems and their high-level integration.
 

System specifications

The proposed multiroom system allows listening to music in 20 rooms so that each member of the family can listen to or watch something different than others. Control is not limited to sound source choice and selection of next/previous track, as in typical multiroom systems. Our suggestion covers the additional feature of being able to find and select a given track by a specific artist, and the creation of own favourite track lists and playlists. All this is effected via a touch-sensitive LCD panel showing the lists of songs/artists/music genres.

As sound sources we suggest a double radio tuner, a double MP3 file server, iPod, CD player, and anything else that you wish to add.

Taking your expectations for all equipment be as invisible as possible into account we suggest multiroom speakers with a power of 45 W, built into the ceilings. For the cinema room we recommend high-end 150 W speakers built into walls, as well as a top-quality projector and screen.

Suggested control panels

Visible components in the rooms are panels with a touch-sensitive screen of diagonal size 3,6” (mounted on the wall of the main room for the given zone). On them one can also view the image from cameras or the video entry phone, they are equipped with small speakers.

For the TV (cinema) room and day room we recommend larger 8,4" wireless panels, standing i. e. on tables. The suggested panels offer an image quality equivalent to that of laptops - with very good contrast and resolution (one can view on them the image from cameras or the video entry phone, they are equipped with stereo speakers).

Thanks to the panels one can control any function of the audio/video system in a simple way, view the image from one of several cameras installed around the house, one can view the guest waiting at the gate, control any lamp/window blind, and have access to the Internet and electronic mail.

For the master bedroom we recommend a universal remote control with similar functionality to the large remote control units, but more handy when one is lying in bed.

For the jacuzzi, a wet room, we recommend the world's only floating remote control, fully water resistant. It can be submerged in water, and its nine double control buttons allow easy control of music as well as i. e. the lighting, window blinds, etc.
